SUMMARY:Sound Bath of Solfeggio Tones
DESCRIPTION:Program cost: $30\nwith Bonnie Fedge\nRegistration will close at 4pm the day of the program \nThe Solfeggio Tones originated as six frequencies proven effective at healing the body. They were found in Gregorian Chants\, lost and then found again\, and researched for results. Three more have since been added\, all following a pattern\, but we will start with the initial six\, using different ones each time that work well together. They are 396hz\, 417hz\, 528hz\, 639hz\, 741hz\, 852hz. Occasionally chimes\, drum beats\, and other tones will be included for variation and receptivity. \nThis is one of many styles of Sound Baths. Comfortably lie down\, and just take it in. We hope you try it! \nBonnie Fedge is a Reiki Master\, Advanced Akashic Records\, is completing her certification in Essential Oils and has used the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) for years. She is also a Sound Bath teacher and facilitator. \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Forest Bathing Walking Meditation
DESCRIPTION:with Carol Marcy at Sylvan Gardens in Chatham. You should be at the Center for the Spiritual Journey\, 880 Main Street\, Chatham\, MA no later than 12:20pm to meet Carol Marcy who will accompany you to Sylvan Gardens and lead your walk.\nPreregistration is required by 5pm on the Monday before the class.\n$10 per session \nThis concept of Forest Bathing grew out of a practice in Japan called Shinrin-yoku that spread to China and Korea and now to the United States. It is about swimming in the living being of the forest: drinking in the smells\, feeling the breeze on your skin\, hearing it move through the trees\, soaking up the warm healing rays of the sun\, touching the earth with awareness. Because this practice is about slowing down\, focusing on the abundant life in and around you\, it is immensely healing. You return from this experience refreshed\, calmer\, more at peace on the inside. Your body\, mind\, spirit and heart have had an opportunity to feel a deep sense of connection with yourself and with Nature. \nThese walks are led by Carol Marcy\, who has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and certification as a Meditation teacher. She has been leading meditative walks on Cape Cod for several years. Please join us for a wonderful heart opening experience. The walk is approximately 1 mile long on easy and beautiful terrain. Please dress comfortably for hiking. Be sure that you are warm enough because we go slowly. \nYou should be at the Center for the Spiritual Journey\, 880 Main Street\, Chatham\, MA no later than 12:20pm to meet Carol Marcy who will accompany you to Sylvan Gardens and lead your walk. \nEmail Tricia at info@csjcapecod.org with questions. \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Journeying on Thursdays - An Introduction to 21 Stages of Meditation with Bevin Stark
DESCRIPTION:In just 3 minutes\, you can change your breathe\, calm your nervous system\, and lighten your mood.  Joy is our birthright… come learn how to cultivate it. \nJoin us for an informal discussion on meditation. Time to share any fears\, blocks\, and successes that you have encountered on your journey toward inner peace. You will introduced some of the techniques that we use in Kundalini meditation and prove to you that anyone can meditate. During this hour\, you will also have the opportunity to look through 21 Stages of Meditation\, the book that will be used as a guide in the course beginning May 1. \nBevin Stark\, Cape native\, has spent over 20 years practicing Kundalini yoga and has been teaching 3-4 days a week for the past 10 yrs. One of the greatest benefits that Bevin has experienced in her practice of yoga and meditation is a deep inner peace\, a stillness and the profound connection with Self and others.  This experience of connection is especially potent in this age of disconnect and isolation. From this experience\, blossoms a knowing\, which in turn leads to a shift in how you experience the world.

SUMMARY:Journeying on Thursdays - Tasting Memory - Poetry Reading with Maria Silverman
DESCRIPTION:Maria will share selections from her written collection Tasting Memory. We will spend a delicious afternoon exploring ancestry\, history and experience through food. Whet the appetite of your imagination! \nMaria Silverman is an actor and writer living in Chatham. Maria graduated with honors from Yale University with a B.A. in Theatre and Chinese. She completed postgraduate training in Classical Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Following school\, Maria made her professional debut on Broadway in Michael Mayer’s Tony Award-winning revival of A View From the Bridge. Since then\, she has appeared in over 60 productions\, including 28 world premieres. She often performs in dialect and specializes in playing multiple characters within a production\, which has allowed her to make a lifelong practice of observation and empathy. Maria performs and writes as a spiritual practice of connection. She is also a Veriditas-trained Labyrinth Facilitator. Since 2020\, she has been a member of Carol Marcy’s poetry circle at the Center. Maria has shared her writing as guest leader of services at the UU churches of Chatham and Provincetown. SUMMARY:Journeying on Thursdays - Intro to Forest Bathing with Carol Marcy
DESCRIPTION:This concept of Forest Bathing grew out of a practice in Japan called Shinrin-yoku that spread to China and Korea and now to the United States. It is about swimming in the living being of the forest: drinking in the smells\, feeling the breeze on your skin\, hearing it move through the trees\, soaking up the warm healing rays of the sun\, touching the earth with awareness. \nCome learn more from Carol.

DESCRIPTION:Whether you have never tried to meditate\, or are experienced meditator\, I hope you will join me to explore some of the generalizations that we can make about meditation. Is it the same as prayer?\nWhat kind of meditation is right for me?\nHow do I start a meditation practice?\nWhy do they call it “meditation practice”?\nWho meditates? Should a person like me give it a try?\nWhere is the best place to meditate? \nAnd other questions or points of curiosity that emerge as we meet.
