SUMMARY:Journeying on Thursdays - Meditation: The Who\, What\, When\, Where\, and Why with Rich Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Whether you have never tried to meditate\, or are experienced meditator\, I hope you will join me to explore some of the generalizations that we can make about meditation. This will include: \nIs meditation the same as relaxation?\nWhat exactly is meditation? Is it the same as prayer?\nWhat kind of meditation is right for me?\nHow do I start a meditation practice?\nWhy do they call it “meditation practice”?\nWho meditates? Should a person like me give it a try?\nWhere is the best place to meditate? \nAnd other questions or points of curiosity that emerge as we meet.

SUMMARY:Forest Bathing Walking Meditation
DESCRIPTION:with Carol Marcy at Sylvan Gardens in Chatham. You should be at the Center for the Spiritual Journey\, 880 Main Street\, Chatham\, MA no later than 12:20pm to meet Carol Marcy who will accompany you to Sylvan Gardens and lead your walk.\nPreregistration is required by 5pm on the Monday before the class.\n$10 per session \nThis concept of Forest Bathing grew out of a practice in Japan called Shinrin-yoku that spread to China and Korea and now to the United States. It is about swimming in the living being of the forest: drinking in the smells\, feeling the breeze on your skin\, hearing it move through the trees\, soaking up the warm healing rays of the sun\, touching the earth with awareness. Because this practice is about slowing down\, focusing on the abundant life in and around you\, it is immensely healing. You return from this experience refreshed\, calmer\, more at peace on the inside. Your body\, mind\, spirit and heart have had an opportunity to feel a deep sense of connection with yourself and with Nature. \nThese walks are led by Carol Marcy\, who has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and certification as a Meditation teacher. She has been leading meditative walks on Cape Cod for several years. Please join us for a wonderful heart opening experience. The walk is approximately 1 mile long on easy and beautiful terrain. Please dress comfortably for hiking. Be sure that you are warm enough because we go slowly. \nYou should be at the Center for the Spiritual Journey\, 880 Main Street\, Chatham\, MA no later than 12:20pm to meet Carol Marcy who will accompany you to Sylvan Gardens and lead your walk. \nEmail admin@csjcapecod.org with questions. \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:21 Stages of Meditation Book - Part One of Three Parts
DESCRIPTION:with Bevin Stark\nWednesdays\, May 1 – June 12\nIn-Person 8:30 – 9:30 am at the Center \n21 Stages of Meditation: First of Three Journeys of 7 weeks each \nIn just 3 minutes\, you can change your breathe\, calm your nervous system\, and lighten your mood. Joy is our birthright… come learn how to cultivate it. \nJoin us to deepen your meditation experience and understanding of Self. Each week we will read a small chapter from 21 Stages of Meditation by Gurucharan Singh Kalsa\, PhD and come together to discuss ‘jewels’ of the reading followed by group meditation. You will be introduced to some of the techniques that we use in Kundalini meditation and prove to you that anyone can meditate. \nYou will need to purchase the book for this class. \nBevin Stark\, Cape native\, has spent over 20 years practicing Kundalini yoga and has been teaching 3-4 days a week for the past 10 yrs. One of the greatest benefits that Bevin has experienced in her practice of yoga and meditation is a deep inner peace\, a stillness and the profound connection with Self and others.  This experience of connection is especially potent in this age of disconnect and isolation. From this experience\, blossoms a knowing\, which in turn leads to a shift in how you experience the world. \nFill out my LGL Form!
