SUMMARY:Qi Gong on the Labyrinth
DESCRIPTION:Qi Gong on the Labyrinth\nWith Andrea Belford\nat the Chatham Labyrinth in Chase Park\n10-11 AM on the third Monday of each month\n$20 each \nMonday\, Sept 21 – Autumnal Equinox – focus on the energies of light and dark in this transitional period.\nMonday\, Oct 19 – Moving with Grace – like the trees and animals in nature\nMonday\, Nov 16 – Gratitude – focus on balancing the energy in our bodies\, so that we can appreciate all that life offers.\nMonday\, Dec 21 – Winter Solstice – embrace the quiet energy of the upcoming winter season. \nIf you’ve enjoyed the Monday evening Labyrinth walks\, at the Chatham Labyrinth\, we invite you to continue the tradition with a monthly QiGong practice on the Labyrinth on Monday mornings! \nIf you haven’t tried QiGong before\, think of it as a moving meditation.  QiGong is energy work.  This is a self-healing practice where we follow a series of slow and gentle movements (all standing) that combine proper posture\, healthy breathing and mindfulness.  QiGong helps us to release any stagnant energies\, so that we may reach our greatest self-healing potential – both physically and emotionally. \nOur focus is on the 5 elements of nature- Wood\, Fire\, Earth\, Metal\, and Water – where we aim to connect with the energies of the natural world.  As we practice QiGong outside\, and move our bodies with nature\, we feel more of a oneness with nature\, more rooted\, and become aware of the deep energetic relationship we have with everything and everyone around us.  Not only does this deepen our connection with our surroundings\, but it helps to cultivate a stronger connection with our inner nature – leaving us feeling more at peace\, with ourselves and with one another. \n \nAndrea Belford has been practicing QiGong for over 8 years\, partnering with organizations to bring her practice to beautiful outdoor spaces so that people can connect with the elements and energies of nature.  Visit capecodqigong.org for more info \n  \nFill out my LGL Form!

For generations\, humanity has imagined itself apart from Nature\, claiming dominion and extracting from the Earth without limit. Our institutions\, including the church\, have often reinforced this separation. \nYet a new spiritual horizon is dawning. Ecological Spirituality invites us to remember what ancient peoples never forgot: that we live inside a holy universe\, alive with intelligence\, beauty\, and relationality. This emerging spirituality is participatory\, embodied\, inclusive — calling us back into the vast communion of life. \nWhen we attune to nature’s astonishing\, life-giving rhythms\, something in us awakens. A shift in consciousness begins. We recognize ourselves as Earthlings — kin to water\, wind\, stone\, and star. From this remembering emerges a deeper spiritual maturity\, one equal to the challenges of our age. \nWhat is our role in this emerging New Paradigm?\nHow do we cultivate communion with Creation in our ordinary days?\nWhat wisdom is seeking to be born through us now? \nRecommended Reading for Diarmuid O’Murchu:\nThe Transformation of Desire\, Ecological Spirituality\n(all by Orbis Press) \nRecommended Reading for Lauren Artress:\nWalking a Sacred Path: Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Practice\nThe Path of the Holy Fool: How the Labyrinth Ignites our Visionary Powers \nDiarmuid O’Murchu\, a member of the Sacred Heart Missionary Order\, and a graduate of Trinity College\, Dublin Ireland\, is a social psychologist whose early working life had been in social ministry\, predominantly in London\, UK. In more recent years he has worked as a workshop leader and group facilitator\, conducting pioneering programmes on Adult Faith Development across several countries. He is a widely read author\, with many of his books listed on this webpage. Now as a retired missionary\, he lives in Dublin\, Ireland. \nRev. Dr. Lauren Artress is Canon Emerita of Grace Cathedral in San Francisco\, internationally recognized teacher on the Spirituality of the Labyrinth\, and author of Walking a Sacred Path: Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Practice; The Sacred Path Companion: How to Use the Labyrinth to Heal and Transform; and The Path of the Holy Fool: How the Labyrinth Ignites our Visionary Powers. Her first book Walking a Sacred Path was instrumental in launching what the New York Times named The Labyrinth Movement in May\, 1998. She founded the non-profit\, Veriditas\, the World-Wide Labyrinth Project\, in 1996 to “pepper the planet with labyrinths.” With over 6\,000 labyrinth sites in the U.S. alone\, her nonprofit work embraces the vision to activate and transform the human spirit through the labyrinth experience. Lauren received the Gandhi\, King\, and Ikeda Peace Award for her work in bringing people together in creative\, peace-giving ways. In 2021 she received the Extraordinary Visionary Leader award from Women Creating our Futures. She is on the Editorial Board of Presence Magazine\, a publication of Spiritual Directors International. Lauren is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California.\nfrom veriditas.org \nRev. Anne Bonney is one of the Co-Founders of The Center for the Spiritual Journey\, Chatham\, Cape Cod MA\, and serves on the Board of Trustees.  She is an Ordained Minister and Certified Spiritual Director. Anne holds a Masters of Divinity Degree and a Masters of Theology in Interfaith Spirituality from Candler School of Theology at Emory University\, Atlanta\, Georgia\, with further studies at the Tamilnadu Seminary in Madurai\, India. Anne was Co-Director of the Chatham Labyrinth Project which built the beautiful Chatham Labyrinth and created the Peace Garden in Chase Park. She and a team of labyrinth volunteers run an active labyrinth program throughout the year\, presenting workshops\, Solstice and other Celebrations\, weekly guided labyrinth walks during the summer months and other events. \n“I am so grateful for being a friend of the Labyrinth. It has brought so many paths of my life’s journey together and is my “go-to” place for quieting my mind and opening my heart”\, says\, Anne. \nBonnie Fedge works at the Center for the Spiritual Journey with programs\, workshops and events. She is certified as a Reiki Master\, Advanced Akashic Records\, Sound Bowls\, Yoga\, Essential Oils\, and an Integrative Wellness Coach. \nShe has worked with volunteers and refugees learning and teaching language\, teaching teachers through international organizations and the department of state in 20 countries globally. SUMMARY:Mindful Yoga with Jenna
DESCRIPTION:Mindful Yoga with Jenna\nTuesday\, 4:30 – 5:30 PM\n$23\nwith Jenna Sammartino\nweekly\, year-round \nAt its essence the practice of yoga is about cultivating embodied awareness\, a tranquility that provides both stability and easefulness. Her classes regularly integrate wisdom themes to complement movement themes. She is a Prajna Yoga Teacher and certified SATYA (somatic awareness for yoga) teacher with decades of training in traditional yoga asana\, meditation\, somatic movement\, and anatomy. She is registered with Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 500 level. \nLearn more about Jenna’s approach to yoga at JennaYoga.com. \nFill out my LGL Form!
