SUMMARY:Tai Chi 2026
DESCRIPTION:Tai Chi\nWednesdays\, 12:30 – 1:30 PM\nbeginning January 21\, 2026\nwith Jenn\n$20 \nno class March 11 \nIn this course\, we will learn the Mother Form of the Hidden Immortal Lineage Taiji (Tai Chi) as passed down to me from my teacher Master Zhongxian Wu. Taiji\, in his words\, is “commonly translated as “supreme ultimate\,” a Daoist concept about the force of universal creation\, and is also the name of an internal Daoist Qigong and martial arts form that is practiced for physical training\, health benefits and spiritual cultivation.” \nThe Mother Form of the Hidden Immortal Lineage embodies the Yijing BaGua (“8 symbols”) which are the building blocks of Daoist philosophy\, internal martial arts\, and classical Chinese medicine. Each movement connects to one of the five elements/exchanges\, to the seasons\, organs of the body\, and to time-space. \nThe slow\, deliberate movements are precisely choreographed to create a relaxed mind-body dance that strengthens\, stretches\, and awakens the three bodies – Jing 精\, Qi 氣\, and Shen 神. \n \nJennifer Burch has been a lifelong student and teacher of contemplative movement within the Yoga and Daoist traditions. She taught full-time in New York City for fifteen years\, where she also practiced the bodywork Zero Balancing. Jennifer left the city to return to the natural world. As someone who has traversed cancer in her past\, and who lives with neurological issues from a rare spinal condition\, she teaches from a place of understanding that one can enter practices from the level of energy (Qi) or that of spirit (Shen)\, even when the body (Jing) has limitations. Zhongxian Wu taught her that students can lie down and visualize the practices\, even when unable to move due to injury or illness. \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Full Moon Open Mic with David Roth
DESCRIPTION:Full Moon Open Mic with David Roth\nChanged to Wednesday\, May 13!\n7:00 – 9:00 PM (sign-up and snacks at 6:30)\nAll are welcome\nPerformers and Audience! \nThis night we’ll give our collection to CARE for the Cape & Islands (CARE). CARE brings together visitors\, local businesses\, and communities to encourage responsible behaviors that protect the Cape’s ecosystems and preserve cultural heritage for generations to come. Learn more by visiting careforthecapeandislands.org. \nJoin David Roth as we welcome the “Full Moon Open Mic” – here at the Center for the Spiritual Journey! We’ll gather to sing\, speak\, regale\, and reaffirm the beauty of organic and authentic community talent. \nSign up opens at 6:30pm. \nThe Full Moon Open Mic (FMOM) began on December 21st\, 2005 at the Eldia Market and Coffeehouse in Orleans. David Roth wanted to offer a forum for local musicians\, poets\, storytellers\, and artists where each would have an opportunity to be heard in a respectful and attentive environment. The FMOM is now in it’s 19th year\, and though the event is absolutely free\, a voluntary donation bucket is put out for a local non-profit every time. As a result of this we’ve received nearly $17\,000 for more than 50 organizations over the years\, and we’re thrilled to come to Chatham to continue our journey! www.davidrothmusic.com \nWe will be fundraising for another worthy organization! \nWhat does anyone think of pot luck snacks/beverages at 6:30 that evening? A little more time to socialize and visit before we take in all the beauty…if you come early and can bring a little something to share\, awesome. Otherwise\, 7 PM it is! \nOrleans resident David Roth is a singer\, songwriter\, and recording artist who has taken his songs\, experience\, and expertise to a wide variety of venues in this and other countries full-time for more than three decades. His work has found its way to Carnegie Hall\, the United Nations\, several Chicken Soup for the Soul books\, the Kennedy Center\, Peter\, Paul\, & Mary and Kingston Trio CDs\, NASA’s Goddard Space Center (his song “Rocket Science” sailed on the space shuttle Atlantis in 2009)\, the Rise Up Singing and Rise Again (sequel) songbooks\, the Kerrville (TX) New Folk Award\, and 15 CDs on the Wind River and Stockfisch (Germany) labels. The former artist-in-residence at New York’s Omega Institute has been on many of Christine Lavin’s seminal Rounder Records compilations\, and has also taught singing\, songwriting\, and performance at many music camps around the country. David serves as Executive Director for SummerSongs Songwriting Camp (NY) and is also creator of the Cape Cod Songwriters Retreat and the Cape’s Full Moon Open Mic which since 2005 has provided a forum for musicians to connect and be heard while at the same time collecting donations (nearing $17\,000 to date) for local non-profits to help neighbors in need.

And anyone practicing any form of silent prayer/meditation is welcome to join us. \nRuah Bull M.A.\,M.Ed. is a spiritual director\, educator and retreat facilitator. She works with people on a variety of spiritual paths who are looking to connect with and trust their inner wisdom. A student of Celtic Christianity\, Native American shamanism\, archetypal psychology and subtle energy work\, Ruah is passionate about participating in the current emergence of a spirituality that is embodied\, intuitive and contemplative. \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Winter Kripalu Yoga 2026

This all-levels gentle hatha yoga class is taught in the tradition of Kripalu Yoga\, known as the “yoga of compassion.” This style of yoga is accessible to everyone and every-body. It places an emphasis on meditation\, physical healing\, and spiritual transformation that overflows from the yoga mat into daily life. She has over 4000 teaching hours and is considered an ‘experienced teacher’. She is devoted to her yoga studies and continues her education in yoga asana (the physical practice) as well as yogic philosophy and history\, and the “deeper practices” of yoga. As a result\, she is influenced and inspired by a variety of teachers in other styles of yoga which include yin yoga\, ashtanga yoga and various meditation practices. \nWhen you register you will receive a confirmation email for the class with the zoom link. \nFill out my LGL Form!
