SUMMARY:Soul Care Series - Session Two - Meditation: Discovery and Exploring Stillness
DESCRIPTION:This evening’s session will be facilitated by Ruah Bull and presented by Rich Hunt \nHow can we slip beneath the surface of our ordinary lives\, and begin to embrace our own depths and mysteries? A regular meditation practice can help us to realize who we are beyond the words\, beyond the sense of self\, and can naturally reveal how we can be more fully present\, moment by moment. In this brief workshop\, you will be led through a couple of short practice sessions\, and begin the discovery of this under-explored terrain. \nEach session over the following weeks will focus on a different practice and as we learn and\ngrow together may our hearts\, minds and bodies remember that WE are each others harvests! \nWe will end the eight sessions with one focused on choosing our path forward and keeping\nthe community garden growing. \nOnce your registration is complete you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link for the session.\nThe Zoom link can be used for all sessions. \nIf you have any questions or need more information\, please contact info@csjcapecod.org \nFill out my LGL Form!

She works with people on a variety of spiritual paths who are looking to connect with and trust their inner wisdom. SUMMARY:Living Authentically … In A World That Would Rather You Didn’t - A Life Coaching Group
DESCRIPTION:with Brad Glass\nFour Sessions – October 4\, 18\, November 1 and 15\n12:00pm – 1:30pm\nSession fee: $30 or $100 for 4 \nThere’s a voice inside you\, uniquely your own\, inviting you to live your inner truth. Had you learned to listen to this voice early in life\, life today might hold meaning\, joy and purpose – a reflection of your longings and dreams. \nMore likely\, however\, you learned to listen to the voices of others instead – about how life (and you) should be. The message is consistent: if you know more\, try harder\, stay busy\, be productive\, be socially acceptable and get it all right\, you’ll earn a lot of money\, so you can have a lot of “stuff\,” and then be happy. Sound familiar? We even think of it as the American Dream. (The original American dream promised freedom of spirit. Where did that dream go?) \nBy learning to trust what matters least (the thinking of others)\, we lost sight of what matters most\, (our own inner truth). In so doing\, we also lose self-trust\, the primary ingredient in authentic living. \nJoin me in “Conversations for Possibility” – relatively unstructured\, bi-weekly participative sessions grounded in your own personal experiences in life. I’ll frame each conversation around one of the perceived obstacles you ex-perience to living a life you love. We’ll then “head out for the territory\,” exploring new ways for you to reclaim your life’s potential. By getting to know\, perhaps for the first time\, the outdated\, invalid assumptions and beliefs that have driven your thinking\, probably for years\, you can learn to release their stranglehold on your potential\, thereby opening up whole new worlds. Join fellow travelers on a journey to living a life you love. \nThis program is informal\, approachable and practical. I will include follow-up notes from each meeting via email\, along with personal practices to guide your becoming. Our learning environment is one of respect\, reverence\, non-judgment\, openness and humor … leading you to the truth that is innately yours to reclaim. Bring an open mind and the willingness to be changed by new perspectives. Leave home most of what you’ve learned on how life “should be” – including all the reasons you can’t live your truth. \nFor over 40 years\, Bradford Glass has inspired courageous professionals\, leaders and their teams to challenge conventional thinking\, and instead take a stand for living with authenticity & freedom. As a manager\, as an educator\, and as a coach\, Brad evokes in others uncommon clarity and perspective – about self\, life\, work and world – allowing them to release “the way it is” and step with confidence into “the way it could be.” Connect with Brad: a complimentary conversation will explore your potential\, and could change your view of what’s possible.
SUMMARY:Take a Breather with Birds
DESCRIPTION:Meet at Sylvan Gardens in Chatham\nRain Date – October 20 12:30 – 2:30pm\nProgram Cost: $20 \nWe invite you to join us for an experiential dive into the practice of Mindful Birding. We will slow down and relax our nervous systems by mindfully tuning into the birds. The birds are excellent allies to bring us into the present moment to experience rejuvenation\, restoration\, and improved states of mental and physical health. Mindful birding dovetails perfectly with the awareness and presence needed to learn the language of the birds. By paying attention to birds’ vocalizations and behaviors\, we learn their secret language. Mindful birding facilitates the quiet mind and deep listening that reconnects us with ourselves and the natural world. \nMolly is a mindful birding guide. She is certified by the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership and in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She is trained as a Somatic Coach with the Strozzi Institute and certified in Animal Communication. Molly is proudly queer and a grateful mother. \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Forest Bathing Walking Meditation
DESCRIPTION:with Carol Marcy at Sylvan Gardens in Chatham. You should be at the Center for the Spiritual Journey\, 880 Main Street\, Chatham\, MA no later than 12:20pm to meet Carol Marcy who will accompany you to Sylvan Gardens and lead your walk.\n$10 per session \nThis concept of Forest Bathing grew out of a practice in Japan called Shinrin-yoku that spread to China and Korea and now to the United States. It is about swimming in the living being of the forest: drinking in the smells\, feeling the breeze on your skin\, hearing it move through the trees\, soaking up the warm healing rays of the sun\, touching the earth with awareness. Because this practice is about slowing down\, focusing on the abundant life in and around you\, it is immensely healing. You return from this experience refreshed\, calmer\, more at peace on the inside. Your body\, mind\, spirit and heart have had an opportunity to feel a deep sense of connection with yourself and with Nature. \nThese walks are led by Carol Marcy\, who has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and certification as a Meditation teacher. She has been leading meditative walks on Cape Cod for several years. Please join us for a wonderful heart opening experience. The walk is approximately 1 mile long on easy and beautiful terrain. Please dress comfortably for hiking. Be sure that you are warm enough because we go slowly. \nYou should be at the Center for the Spiritual Journey\, 880 Main Street\, Chatham\, MA no later than 12:20pm to meet Carol Marcy who will accompany you to Sylvan Gardens and lead your walk. \nEmail Bonnie at info@csjcapecod.org with questions. \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Full Moon Open Mic with David Roth
DESCRIPTION:Join David Roth as we welcome year #19 of the “Full Moon Open Mic” – here at the Center for the Spiritual Journey! We’ll gather to sing\, speak\, regale\, and reaffirm the beauty of organic and authentic community talent. \nSign up opens at 6:30pm. \nThe Full Moon Open Mic (FMOM) began on December 21st\, 2005 at the Eldia Market and Coffeehouse in Orleans. David Roth wanted to offer a forum for local musicians\, poets\, storytellers\, and artists where each would have an opportunity to be heard in a respectful and attentive environment. The FMOM is now in it’s 19th year\, and though the event is absolutely free\, a voluntary donation bucket is put out for a local non-profit every time. As a result of this we’ve received nearly $17\,000 for more than 50 organizations over the years\, and we’re thrilled to come to Chatham to continue our journey! www.davidrothmusic.com \nThis time we’ll send our collection off-Cape to help feed people in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and parts elsewhere\,\nvia the World Central Kitchen. Check out the website of this amazing 501c3 non-profit org: https://wck.org/ \nWhat does anyone think of pot luck snacks/beverages at 6:30 that evening? A little more time to socialize and visit before we take in all the beauty…if you come early and can bring a little something to share\, awesome. Otherwise\, 7 PM it is! \nOrleans resident David Roth is a singer\, songwriter\, and recording artist who has taken his songs\, experience\, and expertise to a wide variety of venues in this and other countries full-time for more than three decades. His work has found its way to Carnegie Hall\, the United Nations\, several Chicken Soup for the Soul books\, the Kennedy Center\, Peter\, Paul\, & Mary and Kingston Trio CDs\, NASA’s Goddard Space Center (his song “Rocket Science” sailed on the space shuttle Atlantis in 2009)\, the Rise Up Singing and Rise Again (sequel) songbooks\, the Kerrville (TX) New Folk Award\, and 15 CDs on the Wind River and Stockfisch (Germany) labels. The former artist-in-residence at New York’s Omega Institute has been on many of Christine Lavin’s seminal Rounder Records compilations\, and has also taught singing\, songwriting\, and performance at many music camps around the country. David serves as Executive Director for SummerSongs Songwriting Camp (NY) and is also creator of the Cape Cod Songwriters Retreat and the Cape’s Full Moon Open Mic which since 2005 has provided a forum for musicians to connect and be heard while at the same time collecting donations (nearing $17\,000 to date) for local non-profits to help neighbors in need.
