Mark your calendars for “Meeting Thich Nhat Hanh Again for the First Time,” a three-part series about Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, a global spiritual leader, poet, and peace activist. Hosted by the Spiritual Life Center, the Rev. Eileen Mahoney will lead an exploration of the person, his teachings and his practice. This special event will be held via Zoom on February 21, February 28 & March 7. 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. Over the course of these 3 evening sessions, Rev. Mahoney will explore an overview of Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings with an emphasis on learning and integrating this new understanding and related practices into your own spiritual life.  You are welcome to sign up for one session or all three. [Include price points] Each session will include opportunities to share in breakout groups and then re-group for a large group discussion.

Session 1: Overview of the practice, the evolution of his concept of peacemaking and Engaged Buddhism, and Thich Nhat Hanh’s relationship to Martin Luther King.

Session 2 Ethical Principles-Four Noble Truths, 8-fold path and the 5 Mindfulness Training.  Session 3:  Jesus and Buddha as Brothers. We’ll explore the relationship between Jesus and Buddha; the principles in common, implications for personal practice, social engagement and spiritual companioning.
